Borderline Personality Disorder Research Foundation

At the invitation of the Borderline Personality Disorder Research Foundation (BPDRF), the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder is pleased to share with our website visitors this brochure prepared by the BPDRF.

The BPDRF has become a major international force in supporting state-of-the-art research on BPD and its work since founding in 1999 has already advanced the field. The brochure's highly informative descriptions of research projects currently underwritten by the Foundation are to be found in the section on "Awards for Established and Young Investigators 2003-2005." The Awards are "designed to support basic or clinical research in six core scientific areas." The outcomes of BPDRF's first phase collaboration with four sites are to be found in "A Look Back: Collaboration of Research Centers 2001-2003."

So many lives are impacted by the disorder, and, as yet, the causes are not fully understood, nor are effective treatments widely available. We hope that reading about ongoing research will give hope to those impacted by the disorder, whether they be consumers, family members, or professionals.

For these reasons, NEA-BPD is grateful to have this opportunity to help bring this information to you, and thanks the leaders and scientists of the Foundation for all they have done and for all they hope to achieve.
